Civil Survey Notes - Ballyrusheen

Ballyrusheen

In the Civil Survey the following are recorded

Donogh O Hogan of Bellarussine Gent

Donogh McKenedy O Hogan of ye same gt.

Hugh O Hogan of the same Gent

John O Hogan of Curraghtemple gt

Therlagh O Bryen of Belline Gent

Mortagh O Bryen of Kilcolman gt.

Teige O Bryen of Tough Esqr

A Donogh Hogan is listed for transplantation from Ballyrustine (Ballyrusheen) to Ballymoe Barony in Galway and the parish of Boyounagh. There are no Hogans listed in the Parish in the Griffiths Valuation.

In the Hearth Money Rolls there is a Daniell Hogan. He could be related to one of the Hogans in the Civil Survey but we have no way of knowing.

In the later records none of the original surnames in the Civil Survey seem to remain in the townlands with only one Hogan in the Griffiths Valuation appearing with a small holding.
