Hearth Money Rolls - Ballyrusheen

In the Hearth Money Rolls 1665
The following names were recorded in Ballyrusheen townland (Bellarussine).
Franke Anslow
Connor McMahowny
Conor O'Hea
Connor Liegh
Mathew Cahane
Danniell Hogane

Generally the first name in a townland seems to be the most important landowner. At least that is my impression.

From his surname - Frank Anslow is likely to be an English settler.
Conor McMahoney - Gaelic Irish maybe from the name McMahon
Conor O'Hea - Gaelic Irish the name has a origin in Cork?
Connor Liegh - I'm not sure of the Surname - could he be Connor the Grey?
Matthew Cahane - Cahane is likely to be the old Arra Chieftain surname of Cathalan who were rulers before the arrival of the MacIBriens.
Daniell Hogane would be of the Gaelic Irish surname that was very prominent in the area.

The next available "Census" for the area is the Tithe Appointment Books 1824 - there have been big changes with
William Baskerville
James Baskerville &
William Gluson
recorded in the townland

In the later Griffiths valuation
We find the Baskervilles, Graces and one Hogan with a small holding. Could he be a descendant of Daniell Hogane from 1665? we will never know?

By 1901 all these names are gone with McDonnells & Moloneys now living there.

In 1911 a Kennedy is recorded.

My own analysis of the rolls highlighting the Arra records.
